Older Women Lead the Way

Age International is marking International Women’s Day by celebrating the older women who are leading the way in their families and communities.
Older women experience double discrimination because of their age and gender, and their achievements are often overlooked. Embracing equity for older women means ensuring they have equal access to services and opportunities, and it means acknowledging their rights and contributions.
Many of the older women we work with have shown remarkable resilience in supporting their families and making a difference in their communities, despite the challenges they face. For International Women’s Day 2023, Age International is highlighting the achievements of three such women in a new interactive feature.
